“Why We Really Should Save Giant Pandas?” is an article written by Kara Segedin. In this case, there are several viewpoints concerning how it is important, necessary and worth so as to protect the giant pandas as an endemic animal in China and need to be safeguarded.

According to the one viewpoint, pandas have unequal payment due to their cuteness and being worldwide conservation icon in order to be protected while there are other species which are also be needed protection. Therefore, there is a question created that is protecting the panda genuinely worth it while other species are also need to be saved? Yet, conservation biology the journal suggests that saving pandas also has assertive influence on the other undefended species in China.

Besides, according to Li and Pimm concentrating on epidemic species in China regarding with amphibians, mammals and birds. Especially, amphibians are ignored when it comes to protecting plan according to another viewpoint.

Nevertheless, Ben Collen states that “It is possible to protect a lot of other species at the same time. Conservation biologists love to look for shortcuts to how [we can] most cost-effectively protect biodiversity.” Moreover, there is an order on the Earth in biological way. For instance, there are levels of bio organization such as the biosphere, ecosystems, communities, populations, organisms, organs and organ systems, tissues, cells, organelles, and molecules. Thus, every part of this system interrelated with each other.

In this case, in my opinion, having a choice about saving pandas in terms of just saving pandas, ignorance of other species, giving more importance to other species are not the sensible solution ways and I think giving equal importance all species is more sensible. Thus, I agree with the opinion suggested by Collen, because of the fact that at the preserving a number of species simultaneously is the prospective way in all this time thanks to not only protecting species but also the time and maybe the investment in as much as possible way.
